We can hardly wait for what's coming to Orange County this week. The American Cheesemaker Awards will take place at the Fairmont Newport Beach and is open to the public.
For culinary pros and industry experts this means judging and rating the best cheeses in the country. But for you and me, this means tasting, without guilt, incredible cheese, wines and gourmet foods Saturday and Sunday!
There's also cheese-inspired classes and seminars presented by industry experts and renowned chefs; and an awards ceremony dinner and gala open to the public Friday, 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $150.
The Cheese Store will be open at the hotel to take holiday orders of favorite cheesemakers' products.
You can also learn the secrets of cheese experts and celebrity chefs who provide exclusive cheese-based culinary demonstrations. Choose among five sessions per day taught by cheesemakers and industry professionals featuring wine pairings, cooking classes, and cheese tasting.
Open to the public Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission costs $75 per person and includes entry to the tasting and one Cheese Academy class. Purchase tickets online.
