Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and if dining out is your tradition (or you want make it your new tradition) try hush in Laguna Beach.
The elegant and simple restaurant serves exceptional contemporary American cuisine, and its wine list features world class choices. It's motto: "making a statement without saying a word" sums up the restaurant's understated elegance.
Hush serves a Thanksgiving Prix Fixe Menu from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. for $55 per adults (excludes beverages, tax and gratuity) and $25 for children (12 and under).
Your first-course choices are lobster bisque, lobster claw meat, porcini foam; organic baby green salad with manchego cheese, Asian pear, glazed walnuts, tangy mustard vinaigrette; a goat cheese tomato tart with warm roasted beet chutney; wild rocket Coramandel oysters champagne mignonette, smoked tomato relish; or ginger snap crusted foie gras
warm apple compote, amaretto pan jus.
Second course choices include grilled Loch Duart salmon, parsnip puree, grilled marinated radicchio, lemon basil beurre blanc; pan-seared John Dory with shiitake mushroom risotto, shaved fennel salad, tangerine mousseline; Diestel free range turkey breast, traditional sourdough stuffing, roasted sweet potatoes, blue lake beans, Grand Marnier cranberry sauce (our favorite); prime rib of beef with horseradish potato gratin, balsamic glazed red pearl onions, and baby red chard; Shiraz braised beef tournedos with baby carrots, yukon whipped potatoes, natural pan jus; or Muscovy duck two ways seared breast, pomegranate demi glace, confit ravioli, caramelized salsify.
And to finish: traditional pumpkin pie with vanilla bean chantilly cream, cinnamon ice cream; and pecan pie with bourbon spiked whipped cream; Valhrona chocolate cake warm macadamia nut caramel, and eggnog ice cream.
