ANOTHER BIG WOW!

The CAMP in Costa Mesa has wowed us once again with a new dining spot. We love the international flavors and seasonal foods at Old Vine Cafe, Wine & Specialty Foods. It's a great addition to The CAMP's existing restaurant choices: AIRe's global cuisine and Native Foods gourmet vegan dishes. Plus, we can't wait to try the new 118 Degrees' organic and raw foods.

Old Vine Café serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Start the day off with fresh berry crepes, homemade granola, or try a delicious crepe stuffed with a sweet artisan ricotta cheese mousse, garnished with mandarin orange coulis; a caramel apple French toast or a pizza omelet with sautéed Genoa salami, mozzarella cheese and pomadoro sauce. And be sure and taste the homemade marmalades and nut butters accompanying the breakfast breads.

At lunch select from homemade soups, creative salads; grilled paninis or tapas style plates. Try the crispy blue salad with crispy prosciutto, fried onions, and Maytag blue cheese dressing; or octopus carpaccio with arugula greens tossed with citrus vinaigrette; and frutti di mare salad with shrimp, calamari, octopus, shredded carrots and lemon vinaigrette on a bed of micro greens.

Grilled-to-order panini choices include just cheese, brie and cheddar cheese served with tomato sauce for dipping; buffalo mozzarella with Roma tomatoes and basil pesto; and pulled pork with barbecue sauce and smoked gouda cheese. Panini dishes include choice of mixed greens or homemade potato chips.

The dinner menu includes small plates and nightly specials, including homemade pasta fresh daily. Or order Chef Mark McDonald's international tasting menu paired with wines. Tapas-style dishes include handmade fettuccini pomodoro seasoned with pancetta and garnished with aged pecorino romano; porcini mushroom mac & cheese with a blend of artisan cheeses; char grilled lamb chops with strawberry tempranillo demi glace, garnished with fried leeks; veggie quinoa jambalaya with seasonal vegetables garnished with fresh cilantro.

The desserts receive rave reviews, there's the crema catalana: Spanish-style crème brulee with hints of cinnamon and citrus; and fresh mixed berries served with sweet ricotta cheese mousse.

From the retail shop take home fresh artisan meats, gourmet cheeses and specialty foods such as olives, oils, vinegars and more. The wine selection is mostly value-conscious wines with a sprinkling of high-end wines.

Breakfast is served daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch is served daily from 11am to 3 p.m. Dinner is served 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 5 p.m.to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. 2937 Bristol St. in Costa Mesa. 714.545.1411.
