THE KING OF HEARTS
Valentine's Day and Opah is a perfect match with the restaurants' three sleek OC locations oozing romance. The chic bistro-style restaurant has always drawn a crowd, not for just its impressive Zen vibe -- warm wooden tables, fishtail palms, a translucent aqua glass bar -- but also for its terrific fusion menu with an emphasis on seafood conceived by executive chef Marc Cohen.
On Valentine's Day Opah serves its daily menu plus Chef Cohen's seductive meal for sweethearts -- which he won't reveal until the big day.
On the regular menu, you can get peppercorn New York steak with a port wine and mushroom reduction with rich gorgonzola mac 'n' cheese; and double-cut maple infused pork chops with sweet potato fries, roasted sweet corn custard and cranberry glaze. Creative pastas include a wild mushroom and ricotta ravioli with arugula, butternut squash, sage butter and toasted pepitas; and artichoke chicken with grilled rosemary chicken, mushrooms, artichoke hearts and roma tomatoes in an asiago cream sauce with penne.
And for wine connoisseurs Opah offers an impressive wine list with more than 40 vintages offered by the glass. Or try, one of Opah’s famous 12-ounce martinis, an award-winning drink that put Opah on the map by the Orange County Register, which named it the best martini bar in Orange County.
