If you're looking to furnish a vacation home in Idaho, Mammoth, Lake Arrowhead or Lake Tahoe -- or just want a relaxed look at home -- you'll want to discover Camps and Cottages in Laguna Beach.
The store carries casual home accessories for cottage and rustic furnishings. It specializes in vintage and new bedding, furniture, pottery, antique prints from the 1880s and case goods.
Owner Molly Hyde English once owned a popular shop in Berkeley before relocating to Laguna, and she's also releasing a coffee table book on vintage camps and cottage interiors.
Popular store items include the Maine Cottage furniture collection available in 40 colors; a fun line from Utility Canvas; artisan designed custom tables, cupboards and end tables; vintage blankets; and handmade quilts and art by two artists with a big following: Denyse Schmidt, a contemporary graphic designer, and Jean Jack, a contemporary artist from Santa Fe.
Another neat item: Camps and Cottages sells lamps from Texas made out of vintage images reproduced on lampshades with birch or cedar bark lamp bases.
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. 1231 N. Coast Highway in Laguna Beach. 949.376.8474.
