Landmark Steakhouse in Corona del Mar has a delightful split personality that will appeal to foodies and those seeking hot spots. The restaurant takes its cuisine seriously with an innovative menu, and then morphs into a lively nightclub with dancing (the only restaurant in Corona del Mar with a dance permit).
Celebs even make the trek here. Sightings include Tiger Woods, Paris Hilton, Derek Jeter and Matt Leinart. And its patio facing East Coast Highway is popular for drinking, dining, and people watching
Landmark is big on appetizers. Favorites include the wild mushroom bruschetta, ahi poke salad, calamari and rock shrimp. And its steaks deservedly get attention. They're tender, flavorful and come in generous portions. Try the CdM Prime New York Strip with sautéed spinach and herb-roasted bliss potatoes; or the Landmark Filet Mignon served with three peppercorn brandy sauce and roasted garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed broccolini.
Others rave about the seafood, especially the Chilean seabass which some say can’t be beat. It’s marinated in miso ginger soy and served with wasabi mashed potatoes and sugar snap peas. There is also Wild Alaskan Salmon, pan-seared in citrus butter with wild rice cakes and sauteed broccolini. And tasty Macadamia Nut Halibut, pan-seared with grilled asparagus and coconut sticky rice.
