Good things are worth waiting for, and Surfside Sports took longer than expected to open its prime location on East 17th St. in Costa Mesa, but the store is a must-see.
We will miss the old-school Newport location on the peninsula, and yet Surfside Sports has twice the room to showcase its awesome merchandise.
New brands have arrived and all departments have expanded. Find popular lines including Burton, Volcom, Hurley and Roxy, as well as lesser known brands such as Factor54, Atwater, Obey, and Ezekiel.
Surfside has one of the largest selections of Burton snowboards in California, plus the latest in bindings and clothing.
Don’t miss Surfside's annual Snowboard Carnival Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.. It promises to be better than ever. The parking lot will turn into a carnival of booths and tents where snowboarding vendors will provide giveaways, and raffles for pre-season deals, free boards, lift tickets and season passes. Some pro snowboarders are expected to sign autographs. There will also be a BBQ.
Open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. 233 E. 17th St. in Costa Mesa. 949.645.4624.
