
Today, Sessions Sandwiches opens on the Newport Beach Peninsula bringing locals, foodies and visitors a new casual gourmet sandwich eatery. Sessions is all about fresh baked bread, local vegetables and premium meats to make the perfect complete meal: the sandwich.
Orange County resident Matt Meddock, with the help of his friends and two co-owners Maxmilian “Max” Schlutz and Beckham Thomas are introducing the concept of a relaxed gourmet deli inspired by the many surf and skate sessions on the peninsula over the years. Sessions features 16 cold and hot sandwiches, four gourmet hot dogs (“Longboards”), a multitude of house-made sauces, sides and salads prepared daily.
The breakfast menu also offers five sandwiches and specialty pastries and muffins with a full coffee bar featuring Kean Coffee and espresso.
Signature sandwiches and top owner picks include: Summer Zephyr with fresh mozzarella, marinated tomato, basil aioli, baby arugula and pickled onion on toasted ciabatta bread; a Greatfella with smoked ham, capicola, Genoa salami, provolone, giardiniera mustard, razor onion, cherry pepper shredded lettuce and herb vinaigrette on toasted ciabatta bread; The Baller (pictured above) with meatballs, red pepper marinara, provolone, basil aioli, spinach and razor onion on ciabatta bread; The Mad Dog a 10-inch, 1/3 lb. hot dog on an authentic Chicago-style poppy seed bun topped with cheddar, bacon, guacamole and pickled onions.
Open 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily; and dinner hours will be introduced in May.
