Throw Your Seafood Recipe in The Ring!

In anticipation of the April opening of the new Slapfish Laguna Beach, Chef/Owner Andrew Gruel is running a contest to find a culinary enthusiast who can contribute their favorite seafood dish named in their honor.

Guests are invited to submit their recipes, and the winning dish will be on the menu for two months at the Laguna Beach location. The winner can eat it for free each time they go to the restaurant! Recipes must abide by Slapfish’s standards of sustainability, and emphasize fresh fish cooked simply with a focus on seasonal, local ingredients. Simply submit recipes on Slapfish’s Facebook page.

Chef Gruel will select three finalists and fans can vote for their favorite dish via social media to select a winner prior to opening. The dish will be featured on the menu, alongside Chef Gruel’s Slapfish signature dishes, including East Coast style lobster rolls, Baja fish tacos, award winning fish & chips, chowder fries, clobster cakes, and lobster toast.

Slapfish Laguna Beach will be the second Orange County location, with the flagship restaurant in Huntington Beach. It will feature 10 indoor seats and an extensive outdoor patio, as well as "grab n' go" options.

To complement Slapfish’s commitment to sustainability, the new Laguna Beach location will use reclaimed materials and strive to achieve the 3-Star Certification from the Green Restaurant Association that it achieved at the Huntington Beach flagship location.

Slapfish is at 19696 Beach Blvd., in the Newland Center at Adams in Huntington Beach; and in April, at 211 Broadway St., across from Main Beach, in Laguna Beach. 714.963.3900.
