Let’s go to Mexico!

Attention people of Orange County! The future of international travel has finally arrived and it does not include the anxiety-ridden 405 north or the fanatical airport we know as LAX.  To get to Mexico all you need is the good 'ol reliable John Wayne Airport.

AirTran Airways now offers daily nonstop flights from Orange County to Cabo San Lucas/San Jose del Cabo and Mexico City.  Finally, we can easily and peacefully travel to Mexico from the comfort of our own backyard.  Don't be afraid to adventure and put a little spontaneity in your life.  Mexico on a whim at 5 p.m. on a Friday?  Why not? John Wayne Airport is easy to get to.
And while waiting for your flight, you can enjoy incredible food options that include Javi's (of the Javier's eateries), Subway, Pei Wei, Pinkberry, Jerry's Wood-Fired Dogs, and Zov's, to name a few.

AirTran Airways, subsidiary of Southwest Airlines offers low-cost flights that includes assigned seating and Business Class. To book a flight, visit http://www.airtran.com.  ; This summer let the Mexican adventures fly - straight out of Orange County.

John Wayne Airport is at 18601 Airport Way in Santa Ana.

Surf's Up!

For the past 26 years, Orange County surf local Erik Nelsen has spread the surf stoke to countless kids. Erik and his crew of veteran, CPR and first aid trained instructors offer a safe environment where children ages 5 to 14 learn about the ocean and begin to learn the fundamentals of Orange County's favorite sport, surfing!

This summer, starting June 18th, the surf camp is firing up again for 10 weeks in the world’s greatest playground, the Pacific Ocean. The veteran staff will teach the grom’s not only the basics of wave riding, but also a balance of ocean safety, environmental activities and beach games. The kids will graduate from the one week program as a legitimate mini- surfer.

The program is designed to instill a sense of passion for the sport of surfing as well as a sense of responsibility for the ocean. The program concludes with a pizza party on the beach, with the parents invited down to grab lunch and watches their kids in action.

Come join the Camp down at the beach this summer and enjoy the California sun. Get active and learn a healthy new sport. See you out there!

Less Pain, More Beauty

Turkeys and ducks are meant to be plucked, and surfboards aren’t always meant to be waxed! Waxing and plucking don't have to be the only option for beautiful looking eyebrows. Bina's Threading  in Tustin offers an alternative called threading. An Indian technique, threading produces a clean, precise hairline giving your eyebrows a smoother, sexier look, and it's less painful.

I recently visited Bina's and the threading technique is painless and my eyebrows look fantastic. The experts at Bina's Threading also offer facials and are highly experienced at creating beautiful henna tattoos.  If you ask me, it sounds like a nice little Saturday - an eyebrow thread, a facial, and just to mix things up a henna tattoo. All with great service and reasonable prices.

Open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Bina’s Threading is at the District at 2407 Park Avenue in Tustin. 714.258.7402.

Movie Magic

Movie soundtracks are such a subtle yet important part of the cinema experience. The Huntington Beach Symphony Orchestra is presenting “Music from Movies We Love” at the Huntington Beach Central Library at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Songs from My Fair Lady, The King and I, Oliver and The Sound of Music will be featured. It will be fun for the whole family. Children's chorus will also be included in this performance

Tickets are $20 or $25 at the door. $18 for senior and students. Purchase tickets at H.B. Library or online here hbsymphony.org

Huntington Beach Central Library is at 8740 Warner Ave. in Huntington Beach.
