If you haven’t yet tasted a Parolli Rolli, you don’t know the savory goodness sandwich that you are missing. This is a specialty rotisserie meat sandwich with tons of herbs, garlic and spices, slowly cooked with love, by way of Rome, that you can find at farmers markets.
Parolli Rolli is available at SoCo Farmers Market on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Newport Beach Farmers Market on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Downtown Anaheim Farmers Markets on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The family run business started after a trip to Rome several years ago, when the Paroles, who once owned the Stuft Noodle in Newport Beach, fell in love with porchetta, a popular street food of roasted pork with crispy skin, seasoned with herbs and spices, garlic, sage, rosemary. It’s typically sliced to order and served in a sandwich from carts and trucks. Now, the fourth generation chefs are serving authentic porchetta and gourmet rotisserie meats just like they do in Italy.
Some of the menu highlights can include the signature porchetta sandwich, a whole pork belly with herbs, garlic and spices, slow cooked on rotisserie, sliced and served on a freshly baked rustic ciabatta with organic baby arugula and herb rolli relish, and crispy skin on request. (All menu items come with dripping potatoes.)
A Rolli Benedict, on toasted ciabatta with porchetta, spinach, two olive oil poached eggs and herb rolli relish with crispies.
Herb Roasted Chicken, all natural herb and garlic rotisserie roasted chicken, sold as a sandwich or whole with dripping potatoes herb stuffed top sirloin.
Herb Stuffed Top Sirloin, whole top sirloin stuffed with fresh herbs, garlic and spices slow roasted on rotisserie, sliced and served on a fresh rustic ciabatta with organic baby arugula and herb Rolli relish
There are specials that can be ordered, such as crispy duck, Cornish game hens, leg of lamb, and porchetta by the pound to take home for dinner with a side of potatoes, rolls and more. It’s great for family or parties.
All breads are baked fresh daily by Bread Artisan Bakery in Tustin.
Special orders can be made online via email at parollirolli@gmail.com and picked up at one of the farmers markets.
