#SustainableTastesBetter

It’s the summer of sustainable seafood at Slapfish restaurant in Huntington Beach as Chef Andrew Gruel kicks off a six-week campaign today offering a series of specials featuring fresh, responsibly sourced seafood. Slapfish specializes in delicious "boat-to-plate" cuisine served in a casual, relaxed setting.

“We want folks to know that we are deeply committed to sourcing only eco-friendly and well-managed seafood,” said Chef Andrew Gruel, with his partner Jethro Naude, grew up fishing, surfing, and now making their living with the ocean. “We work closely with multiple organizations to ensure that we are responsible in our sourcing and serve the right types of seafood in our one-of-a-kind dishes.”

The Summer of Sustainable Seafood specials can include:

BBQ Yellowtail Banh Mi Sandwich, a fresh baked baguette, packed with pickled radish, cucumber, carrots, jalapeno, and spiced yellowtail, and grill sauce.

Also on the roster are Kathy Thomson, president/COO of the Los Angeles Times and Tribune Publishing; Gwynne Shotwell, president/COO of SpaceX; Kristen Howerton, marriage and family therapist and popular “mom blogger;” USC writing guru and playwright Prince Gomolvilas; Reggie Gilyard, dean of the Argyros School of Business and Economics at Chapman University; Chapman quantum physicist Ali Nayeri; Chapman health communications expert Lisa Sparks; game designer Liz Fiacco and more.

Tickets are on sale at $60 for general admission at www.TedxChapmanU.com to purchase conference tickets or for more information about this year’s conference.
