One of the fave summer traditions, FREE summer Movie Mondays starts tonight with “The Wedding Singer” at 8 p.m. at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa. Pack a beach chair, bring snacks or a picnic dinner and watch the film under the stars projected on the side of Segerstrom Hall. Set-up starts at 5:30 p.m. with the movie starting at 8 p.m. Some of the best short animated films from the Newport Beach Film Festival will be shown before the movie starts.
Patina Catering will also offer special themed-menu items, assorted snacks and beverages available for purchase. Tonight, choose from burger and cheeseburger sliders: $6 for 2 sliders grilled cheese sandwiches: $4 each. Slices of wedding cake: $3 each.
For next Monday’s film you can pre-order platters (serves 2-4: must be ordered by the previous Friday by 5 p.m.) Choose from assorted cheeses and charcuterie – double cream brie, chipotle cheddar, vella jack, San Danielle prosciutto, dry aged salami, grapes, olives, marinated peppers, dried fruit, crackers: $18 plus tax and service charge.
Sweets platter – six assorted cookies, four brownies, four chocolate covered strawberries: $12 plus tax and service charge. Or a chocolate fondue platter – strawberries, pineapple, brownie bites, pound cake bites, marshmallows, chocolate sauce: $15 plus tax and service charge. Free Movie Mondays continues with Buena Vista Social Club – July 15, Mulan– July 22, The Phantom of the Opera – July 29, Evita – Aug. 5.

Sip Movie-Themed Cocktails at Cinepolis
Sip new movie-themed summer cocktails at Cinepolis Luxury Cinemas in Laguna Niguel and Rancho Santa Margarita based on summer releases such as for "The Lone Ranger," a Kimosabe with Larceny Bourbon, fresh blackberries, lemon juice and sage; on July 27 for "The Wolverine,” the Adamantium with Bombay Sapphire East Gin, fresh grapefruit juice, lemon juice and Stone IPA; and on Aug.16 for “Kick-Ass” the Hit Girl Martini with Herradura Blanco Tequila, hibiscus syrup, fresh lemon, agave nectar, Angostura orange bitters.
The Cinemas include state-of-the-art, digital auditoriums, leather reclining chairs, swivel tables and call service buttons that summon cinema servers to take moviegoers’ food and drink orders during a film.
Ticket prices range from $13.50 -$19.50—with a surcharge for 3D films. Tickets can be purchased online at Cinépolisusa.com or inside the Cinema at the Concierge.
