Award-winning Angelina’s Pizzeria Welcomes New Chef and Seasonal Dishes

Award-winning Angelina’s Pizzeria in Irvine, a chic and intimate spot to go for excellent starters, salads, pizza Napoletana, handmade pasta, from-scratch sauces and delicious desserts just welcomed Chef Jonah Amodt, formerly the head chef of Andrea at the Resort at Pelican Hill. Chef Amodt was inspired by his mother, who taught him that cooking was not only about the food but how it could bring people together. He strives to continue that tradition by bringing people together with his food.

While Amodt has 14 years of experience in all types of cuisine, Italian food has always held a special place in his heart. He believes that the authentic Italian dining experience consists of the freshest ingredients brought together in a way that complements each other, much like a family.

A few of his new seasonal dishes at Angelina’s Pizzeria include Stuzzichino Burrata di Primavera with English peas, fava beans, mint and lemon. There’s a delicious and memorable Antipasto Polipo e Ceci with charred octopus, braised chickpeas, tomatoes and marjoram. If you love fresh gnocchi, you must try the Gnocchi Bolognese with burrata and basil.

Main dish choices include Halibut di Stagione, seared Alaskan Halibut with creamy leek puree and sautéed oyster mushrooms and Costole de Vitello, a veal chop with charred rapini puree, apricot mostarda and potatoes is one of the best dishes we’ve ever had. Save room for the excellent Tiramisu with lady fingers, mascarpone cheese, eggs, sugar and espresso.  

Open 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
