Labor Day Staycation in Mission Bay
08.22.22
Considering a staycation for the upcoming holiday weekend? Mission Bay is an iconic destination within San Diego, situated on 27 miles of sandy shoreline and offering 4,600 acres of aquatic adventure and budget-friendly luxury lodging at six different hotels and resorts.
With diverse outdoor activities (paddling, kayaking, biking), dining at more than a dozen restaurants, and four spas, Mission Bay offers endless family-friendly activities and access to the best of San Diego experiences, making it a perfect staycation destination.
Discover Mission Bay is a collection of esteemed resort properties and local attractions including Action Sports Rentals, Bahia Resort Hotel, Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa, The Dana on Mission Bay, Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina, Paradise Point Resort, San Diego Mission Bay Resort, and SeaWorld San Diego.
In addition to ultimate relaxation at the spa, unique waterfront accommodations, and dining experiences at each property, a few standout seasonal activities that make for a special end to one’s summer include:
Sunset Luaus on the Bay – Friday, September 2 is the grand finale of the beloved summer series. A San Diego summer tradition, these luaus at The Catamaran Resort Hotel are a festive celebration of Polynesian food, music, and dances, perfect for family and friends and include a silk lei, all-you-can-eat buff, and of course, plenty of entertainment.
Bahia Belle Cruise – This turn-of-the-century, Mississippi-style boat departs from either the Bahia Resort Hotel or the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa and provides a 45-minute sightseeing cruise of Mission Bay. The 74-foot, 3-story sternwheeler boat offers an observation deck to view the beautiful sites of the 4,200-acre aquatic park. After 9 p.m., the Bahia Belle becomes Mission Bay’s ultimate party boat, and enjoy a DJ, cocktails, and live entertainment aboard the vintage sternwheeler.
Action Sports Rentals – San Diego’s premier spot for activity rentals offers a variety of kid-friendly land and water-based activities including kid’s bike rentals along Mission Bay’s 27-mile sandy shoreline, single and tandem surreys for the whole family to ride together, and body boarding to play in the ocean at nearby Mission Beach.
