ECO CHIC BEAUTY CAMP!
06.25.12
We admit it. We want to attend Eco Chic Beauty Camp with OC's own mother (of six!) and natural products expert, Chelle Goodfriend of Gaia's Garden Bath & Botanica. Who wouldn’t want to spend warm summer days learning about how to make natural and healthy beauty products? We can’t think of anything better for young girls to learn than ttrue beauty lessons to last a lifetime!
In this informative (and fun!) week-long camp, girls learn all about the ingredients in beauty products and their effects on the human body while making “eco-chic” beauty products (such as lip balms, lotions, facial cleansers, masks and more!) out of food-grade oils, herbs and clays. Participants take home all the products they make each day. All recipes are included so mothers and daughters can whip up more products at home as needed!
Sadly for us middle-aged mothers, the camp is only for girls ages 8-15. It will be held from July 30-Aug. 3 (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) at Murdy Park (7000 Norma Dr.) in Huntington Beach. The cost is $200 per child plus a $25 materials fee. To register, visit http://ecochic73012.eventbrite.com/.
So, who is Chelle Goodfriend and why should you trust your girly camper to her care? We have known “Chelle the Shaman” for more than 20 years now as a dedicated and loving mother, a health educator, a lactation consultant, a doula and a midwife. And for two decades, she has handcrafted her own “formulas” for all-things natural from moisturizers to toners to soaps to cleaning products. She is now bringing this knowledge to her Gaia’s Garden Bath & Botanica (see below) beauty products as well as to your daughter and to your family through her priceless eco-chic beauty summer day camp.
More about Chelle Goodfriend
Chelle Goodfriend has been a health educator for more than 20 years. She has taught at four Orange County hospitals and she speaks at conferences and workshops around the country and in Mexico. She is the mother of six children and the owner of Gaia’s Garden Bath & Botanica, where she uses her training as a clinical aromatherapist and herbalist to formulate natural and organic body care products from food-grade oils and herbs. She has traveled the world studying with master herbalists in the Amazon rainforest, learned principals of Ayruveda while in India and while studying at Carlsbad’s famed Chopra Center.
