Jockey Inspired Brew at Del Mar

Cool off at the track with Del Mar’s Craft Beer Festival and Beach Bag Giveaway this Saturday, August 29. Beer lovers can sample jockey inspired brew at Del Mar and enjoy a free, all ages show by “Weird Al” Yankovic on Friday, August 28.

The concert will start following the final race of the day, approximately scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Del Mar’s Craft Beer Festival features dozens of San Diego’s best breweries offering sample craft beer tastings. Starting at 12 p.m., five, 7oz. tastings will be available for $20, and admission to the Beer Fest area is free with paid racetrack admission.

There will also be several gourmet food truck offerings to pair with beer tastings.  

Del Mar will also be giving out free beach bags while supplies last.

Racing at Del Mar continues through September 7, with post time for the first race on most days at 2 p.m. On Fridays first post is shifted to 4 p.m.

HABIT BURGER GRILL ADDS NEW LIMITED TIME BURGER

The Habit Burger Grill has added a limited time special to its menu: a Roasted Garlic Portabella Double Charburger. The burger, available August 19-October 6, fuses the flavors of two chargrilled beef patties with roasted portabella mushrooms, melted cheese, crisp lettuce, and juicy tomatoes, all between toasted garlic herb sourdough bread.

Chef Adam Baird, The Habit’s vice president of food & beverage and creator of the new Charburger says that “There is a rich, earthiness and great texture from the roasted portabella mushrooms that blends so well with the roasted garlic and our chargrilled beef. The portabella, and the toasted garlic sourdough, are what enhance our signature Charburger here.”

The Roasted Garlic Portabella Double Charburger is $5.95 and can be found at participating Habit Burger Grills.
