Tuesday Night Dance Bollywood at the Plaza
04.22.21
Segerstrom Center for the Arts is kicking up the heat on the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza dancefloor with its popular Tuesday Night Dance series featuring Bollywood on May 4, 11, 18, and 25.
They’re ideal during this time of quarantine and stay-at-home because, once you’ve mastered the steps during the classes at the Center, they can be handless, distanced, and energize any room with the music and moves so unique to both dance styles. Classes are 6:30- 7:30 p.m., with check-in at 6 p.m. Spaces are just $10 each, and 28 spaces are available. Immediate sign-ups are encouraged because Tuesday Night Dance sells out quickly. Registration is available here.
Apra Bhandari, will lead the fun, upbeat Bollywood classes, perfect for all ages. It’s energetic and colorful and great exercise.
Bhandari is the director and owner of award-winning Adaa Dance, which she founded to share her love for dance, Indian culture, and fitness with everyone. She is trained in various styles of dance, including Kathak (an Indian classical dance form). Apra loves to combine the fun beats of Bollywood with energetic movements to create the perfect cardio class that everyone can enjoy. Adaa focuses on staying active and creating a well-balanced lifestyle through yoga, meditation, and movement.
The Center's outdoor presentations on the Argyros Plaza comply with government recommendations for Orange County's current tier status. Masks must be worn by all guests upon check-in and until they arrive at their assigned space. Contactless check-in will include wellness and touchless temperature checks. Hand sanitizer stations will be accessible throughout the Argyros Plaza. Each participant will be spaced 8 feet from others and dance movements will be stationary. The instructor will be on-stage and will not provide tactile cuing.

SPLASHES Launches High Tide Dinner Series with Super Pink Moon
04.22.21
Inspired by Surf & Sand Resort's oceanfront location, the SPLASHES culinary team has created a High Tide Dinner Series with a specially crafted menu and wine pairings that align with each month's full moon–beginning with April's Super Pink Moon, followed by the Flower Moon in May, and beyond.
Sample menu highlights for the inaugural Hide Tide Dinner include green gazpacho amuse bouche featuring spiced prawn, pickled onion and crisp sourdough. House cured King Salmon will follow with a compressed pink lady apple, espelette yogurt, beet horseradish gel and Everything Bagel crumb, paired with a California Schramsberg Brut Rose.
The second course is a decadent disc of seared bristol scallops with English pea, shaved purple cauliflower, prosciutto crisp, kalamata snow and orangecello emulsion paired with a French Esprit Gassier Rose. Transitioning back to land, the evening concludes with roasted duck breast alongside purple sweet potato, baby artichokes, favas, charred onion and strawberry gastrique with a glass of Narcisse, "Soliste" Pinot Noir, all of which will be followed by dessert.
The Super Pink dinner menu will be available at SPLASHES on Tuesday, April 27 for $150 per person, reservations can be made online or by calling 877.741.5908.
