Lea Jane’s Hot Chicken Opens at SteelCraft Bellflower
01.10.22
SteelCraft Bellflower, an outdoor urban eatery built using repurposed shipping containers with additional locations in Long Beach and Garden Grove, just added Lea Jane’s Hot Chicken to its impressive roster of eateries.
“We are so excited to introduce the Bellflower community to the delicious menu at Lea Jane’s Hot Chicken,” shared Kim Gros, founder of SteelCraft. “Locals come to SteelCraft to try the latest and greatest in foodie culture, and we know that Lea Jane’s will not disappoint.”
It’s the first Lea Jane’s Hot Chicken to open in California. Managing Partner Johnny Hoang opened the first Lea Jane’s Hot Chicken location in Denver, Colorado in 2020. The eatery was such a hit that the concept quickly expanded into Texas with a second location opening in Houston and they have plans to open others in Austin and Englewood.
The fast-casual concept offers a menu that is reminiscent of roadside picnics with options including classic fried chicken, wings, and sandwiches. The team at Lea Jane’s has a three-day process to ensure the flavor of their chicken is just right. The process includes brining the bone-in poultry in a blend of secret spices, water, and sugar for 24 hours before the chicken goes through a second round of breading and then is fried and seasoned. Guests can choose from three different heat levels including Southern (no spice), Medium, and Clucking Hot.
“Some of my fondest memories from my childhood are of the picnics I would have with my family while on road trips every summer. Fried chicken is one of my father’s favorite foods, and it was always on our roadside picnic menu,” shares Lea Jane’s Managing Partner Johnny Hoang. “I founded Lea Jane’s Hot Chicken to pay homage to those special childhood memories, and I can’t wait to introduce our nostalgia-tinged spin on Nashville-style hot chicken to visitors of SteelCraft — a food hall brimming with unique ideas and concepts that so perfectly complement our bourgeoning brand.”
Lea Jane’s is open at SteelCraft Bellflower from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
16500 Bellflower Blvd, Bellflower.
