CA Wine Fest: Wine, Food, Music, Sun & Sea

The highly anticipated sixth annual California Wine Festival has found a new cliff top venue with breathtaking views of Dana Point Harbor and Marina at Lantern Bay Park in Dana Point. on Friday April 17 and Saturday, April 18.

The California Wine Fest has an even wider variety of wineries from every wine region in California to pour, plus regional microbreweries and restaurants from around the County.

On Friday April 17 from 6:30-9 p.m. you can attend “Sunset Rare & Reserve” Wine Tasting at the Marriott Laguna Cliffs Marriot Resort & Spa on the VUE Lawn.

California’s best winemakers will pour 100 of their rare and reserve level wine bottles in a wine lover’s fantasy night of sipping the really good stuff. A sparkling Champagne reception kicks off the evening, and then guests will be treated to Napa trophy cabs, rare bottles of Sonoma reds, Santa Cruz and Sierra Mtn. areas finest

Pinot Noirs and Syrahs, the trendy wines from California’s Central Coast, as well as a solid Santa Barbara County and Temecula contingency of top winemakers. Popular regional chefs will serve hot and cold gourmet appetizers while live music entertains.

On Saturday, April 18, from noon to 4 p.m. it’s a “Beachside Food & Wine Fest” at Lantern Bay Park in Dana Point.

This wildly popular wine event is a high point in Orange County wine circles and the Dana Point beach location attracts thousands beginning at noon for VIP and Early Entrance Pass holders –and 1 p.m. for regular ticket holders.

Wine lovers can stroll the grassy beachview location for a day of sun, sea, wine, food and music where literally hundreds of premium California wines are served up along with the best of the regional microbreweries, gourmet food samples and vendors of all things related to wine. “Upstream”, a busy Southern California Caribbean band, is back with their high-energy fun fueled by their steel drum rhythms.

The event will also feature an expanded VIP Pavilion this year in partnership with the OC Golden Foodies. The VIP Pavilion will feature gourmet bites and reserve level wines, seating and shade. The events will benefit the Surfrider Foundation of South Orange County.
