Greer hits the red carpet on opening night of the 2012 Newport Beach Film Festival to catch the premiere of 'Jewtopia' at Big Newport Edwards. Based on a long-running play of the same name, "Jewtopia' stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, Tom Arnold, Joel David Moore, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Ivan Sergei, Jon Lovitz, Rachel Fox, Nicollette Sheridan, Lin Shaye.

Standout Performances at NBFF

The Newport Beach Film Festival’s standout premieres include “The Man who Shook the Hand of Vincente Fernandez,” tonight at 6 p.m. at Islands Cinema and Thursday at 5:15 p.m at Lido Theatre; the Korean film “My Way”, an epic telling of a never before heard World War 2 story, will be shown Monday at 7:15 p.m. at Big Newport.

The Saturday Night Centerpiece will be a film called “Nesting”, which follows the uneasy transition of a young married couples life in Los Angeles.

Lido Theatre will host the Closing Night Gala of the Newport Beach Film Festival with the premiere of “Shanghai Calling” Thursday at 7:30 p.m. on. The night of cinema, food and drink will be offered at the closing ceremony with a hosted bar by Stella Artois and Absolut and award winning restaurants serving hors d'oeuvres. Tickets cost $60 for film and party.

The Newport Beach Film Festival runs through Thursday, and boasts more than 400 films from 50 countries, nightly special events, Q & A’s with filmmakers, international spotlight events and seminars.
