Molly O’Neil Opens Luxury Design Studio and Home Decor Shop in Costa Mesa

Newport Beach native Molly O’Neil, Assoc. AIA, Associate ASID, IIDA, has launched Molly O Architectural Interior Design Studio, a design studio and home decor shop specializing in luxury residential and hospitality projects.

The studio reflects O’Neil’s design philosophy, emphasizing architectural details, quality craftsmanship, and the transformative use of color and wallpaper to personalize living spaces. Her full-service design offerings include architectural planning, construction coordination, and client collaboration on custom furniture, designer fabrics, artisan tiles, high-end finishes, hardware, and curated home decor.

The studio introduces an immersive retail experience, where customers can explore thoughtfully designed vignettes showcasing key spaces such as kitchens, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, and offices. This interactive setting allows O’Neil to work closely with clients to develop architectural and interior design plans while visualizing furnishings, appliances, lighting, finishes, and accessories.

In addition to design services, the studio features a curated selection of home decor and accessories. Unique pottery, candles, soaps, pillows, lamps, furniture, and artwork sourced globally are handpicked by O’Neil to complete the look of any home, restaurant, or hotel.

With over 25 years of experience designing luxury homes, boutique hotels, and restaurants, O’Neil brings a signature approach that blends vibrant colors with rich textures. Her work highlights the elegance of fine materials, from the cool smoothness of marble to the warmth of polished wood and the refinement of bespoke fabrics.

“Your home should be a reflection of how you live. Whether your style is classic and colorful or modern and minimalist, innovative design and high-quality materials stand the test of time,” said O’Neil, owner and creative director of her namesake studio. “A great design is also only as effective as its execution, and regardless if it’s a home, hotel, or restaurant, we excel at creating spaces that are unique and relevant.”

O’Neil began her studies at the University of Southern California, majoring in photojournalism, and graduated from the Design Institute of San Diego. Her diverse background spans architecture, engineering, and design. Over her career, she has worked on residential, retail, and hospitality interiors, including collaborations with leading restaurant corporations on global rebranding efforts, innovative prototypes, and optimized kitchen layouts.

Molly O Architectural Interior Design Studio is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays by appointment.

Visit the studio at 1663 Placentia Ave., Costa Mesa, CA 92627.
