Summer Starts May 17 at Wild Rivers With New Mermaid Cove

Wild Rivers Waterpark in Irvine opens for its 2025 summer season on Saturday, May 17. Known as Southern California’s premier waterpark, Wild Rivers features more than 25 water attractions for all ages and thrill levels—plus premium cabanas, group packages, seasonal events and new experiences.
New this year is Mermaid Cove, an immersive makeover and retail experience created in partnership with Newport Beach’s Once Upon an Island. Launching in June, Mermaid Cove offers mermaid transformations with glitter tattoos, shimmer freckles, braids, swimmable tails, glam kits and more—set inside a walk-up, open-air grotto with photo ops in a giant clamshell throne. Mermaid Splash Packages and private Mermaid Birthday Parties are also available.
The park features a wide range of slides and water rides, including the six-story Bora Bora Boomerango, the twisting Aquaconda, and the scenic Castaway River—one of the longest lazy rivers in the state. Guests can also enjoy wave action at the Shaka Bay Wavepool.
Cabanas, Parties and Group Events
Fifty-six private cabanas are available to rent starting at $199. Each cabana includes seating for four, a dedicated server, and access to an exclusive food and beverage menu. Celebration Packages make birthdays and events easy with everything included, while customizable group outings include discounted admission and catering options.
Food, Drinks and Entertainment
Throughout the park, guests can enjoy a variety of food options from casual bites to sweet treats. A selection of adult beverages is available for those 21 and over.
Opening weekend entertainment includes live Caribbean music by the Dwight Kennedy Duo at the Wave Pool on Saturday, May 17, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. DJ sets and live performances continue most weekends all summer.
Discounted Tickets and Season Passes
Any-Day and Pick-Your-Day tickets are currently on sale for $44.99—a $30 discount. Children 2 and under are free. 2025 Platinum, Gold and Silver Season Passes are also available starting at $139.
