Chocolate Chip Thank you!
We want to thank everyone who came out and donated raffle items and foods for the launch of non-profit "Educating Jack and Milly: One Cookie at a Time” party at OC Mart MIX.
Chef Rachel Klemek from Blackmarket Bakery in Irvine bakes our favorite chocolate chip cookie and the proceeds are going to Jack's and Milly’s (two promising young adults I befriended in Kenya) college education in Nairobi, Kenya. If you couldn’t make it out to the party, you can still try the world’s best chocolate chip cookie (at least we think so).
The Jack & Milly Cookie is available at Blackmarket Bakery in Irvine, OC Wine Mart in Irvine, Paula Hanson in Newport Beach and Lu Lu’s Boutique in Costa Mesa.
We’d like to thank Nicole Vaughn for the awesome music, foods from Taste Buds, tacos from Rasta Taco, fruits from Melissa’s, wines from We Olive Wine Bar, and all of the generous raffle donations.
Many thanks!
Greer Wylder met Jack and Milly on a month-long volunteer trip last year to their tiny village in western Kenya. A college education will allow them and their families to escape a life of poverty (they live on about $1 per day in a small village with no electricity or running water).
