The Dream Home
Let’s face it. Living with multi-generations isn’t just a trend, it’s a reality due to economic factors, or simply an attractive option for some. To give us a better idea on how living with three generations can work under one roof more than a dozen leading designers from American Society of Interior Designer in Orange County created a dream living space to inspire at South Coast Collection in Costa Mesa.
The designers spent countless hours of construction and design to create a one-of-a-kind showcase project that you can tour to benefit National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The converted storefront at SOCO has been separated into 16 distinctive areas, each designed by a different ASID member or team. You can tour a foyer, lobby, living room, master bedroom, master bathroom, teen bedroom, guest bath, nursery, grandparents’ suite, grandparent’s bath, powder room, kitchen and laundry.
The Dream Home is open 10 a.m. to 5p.m. Monday through Sunday. And on Wednesdays it stays open until 8 p.m. for “Meet the Designers Night.” Admission starts at $25 on-line, $30 per person at the door, and $50 for an unlimited month-long pass. Attend meet-and-greet receptions and a “Guest Lecture Series” on Saturdays at an additional cost. For event schedule, directions and ticket information, visit http://www.asiddreamhome.com.
SOCO is at 3303 Hyland Ave. in Costa Mesa 92626. The Dream Home is in Suite C-1 between STARK and Fixtures Living.
