When it comes to finding the best in eco-friendly wares, the Road Less Traveled in Santa Ana can’t be beat. It’s Orange County’s original and definitive source for green home, kitchen, mother/child, beauty and more under one roof. Owner Delilah Snell just relocated to a fantastic new location at the Grand Central Art Center in Downtown Santa Ana. She’s also collaborated with Belly Sprout, to provide hard-to-find European natural and nontoxic head to toe beauty products, and mommy and baby essentials.
Popular items at Road Less Traveled include our favorite Relight hand poured soy candles in soda and beer cans scented to match Tab, Coke, 7-Up, Pepsi and beer; recipe dice packaged in mason jars; Crafty-Ass Bitch aprons and totes, and Drink Local flasks; La Chamba pottery; and stainless steel lunch containers.
With a new home, the Road Less Traveled will be planning workshops for those interested in urban crafts, natural living, cooking and more. We took her preserves and jelly class, and we highly recommend any one of her workshops. Sign up for mustard making, yogurt, hatch chili and more.
Open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
125 North Broadway-C, at the Grand Central Arts Center next to The Gypsy Den, in Santa Ana. 714.836.8727.
Defy Gravity
At the new Defy Gravity in Corona del Mar, co-owners Shannon Barbadian and Laura Fox created a one- of-a-kind studio that combines two forms of exercise together, blending the high energy level of spinning mixed with the lengthening and toning of Pilates. Clients can also choose separate classes of spinning and Pilates as well. The pilates room features five Allegro reformers and five EXO Chairs for a variety of exercises. The spin room is equipped with ten Schwinn AC Performance bikes with resistance bands over each bike for upper body work towards the end of spin classes.
The Pilates/spinning studios is offering Greer’s OC readers a special: take any 3 classes for $45 and receive the first class free, for a total of 4 classes. Regular pricing is $33 for Pilates and $23 for spinning.
