Sugar Blossom Bake Shop, a boutique bakery in San Clemente, is where it’s at in south Orange County for premium bakery items thanks to Lei Shishak, former executive pastry chef at Stonehill Tavern at St. Regis Monarch Beach. Last year, she ventured out on her own with Sugar Blossom Bake Shop, a place for made-from-scratch cookies, cupcakes, and cakes.
You can’t go wrong with favorites like a refreshing lemon cupcake topped with light, lemony torched meringue; or chocolate chip mint Valrhona chocolate cupcake with mint frosting sprinkled with Callebaut chocolate chips; and the delicious oatmeal toffee cherry cookies loaded with sweet toffee bits, oats, chewy cherries and Callebaut chocolate chips.
For Father’s Day, she’s making a special chocolate Guinness Stout cupcake available from June 10-19. The ultra-moist stout-infused chocolate cupcake is topped with torched Guinness meringue ($3).
On Sundays only, she bakes signature macadamia cinnamon rolls, however, they can sell out! (Cookies cost $2, cupcakes cost $3 to $3.25, and cinnamon rolls cost $4).
Open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
Sugar Blossom Bake Shop is at 204 Avenida Del Mar, Suite F, in San Clemente. 949.429.5555.
