Designer Camp, Southern California’s only comprehensive and collaborative design-based summer camp for young adults ages 11-17 is coming to Orange County for the first time! This unique week-long program runs Monday through Friday through July 24-28 at Drifter's flagship store at SOCO in Costa Mesa. The program is in partnership with nationally-recognized brands in the design industry such as Design Within Reach, Drifter, Farrow & Ball, Uni Home Store and more.
Designer Camp gives students a rare opportunity to engage and learn through hands-on workshops, informative talks from working designers and behind-the-scenes tours of showrooms and galleries. Designer Camp also partners with organizations allowing students to design for social good. This year the students will create a B Corporation, using their creativity combined with the power of business to solve social and environmental problems.
This boutique camp (capacity is set at 25 students) allows students to explore the exciting worlds of Art, Branding, Fashion, Interior Design, Merchandising, Photography, Styling, Trend Forecasting, and much more! Registration is now open here.
Designer Camp’s goal is to change the lives of youth through cultivating their unique creativity and helping them discover the many career opportunities for their future. Through generous donations from their local partners, Designer Camp can offer scholarship awards to a handful of students.
Founder Kristen Dees says she created Designer Camp to “Help young adults foster their design talents and show them the many career opportunities that exist within the fields of fashion and interior design.” She adds, ”We are so lucky to be in the company of the country’s top designers and brands – many of whom happily take the time to mentor our students. Designer Camp certainly wouldn’t be possible without the support of the design community.”

Drifter is at 3323 Hyland Avenue in Costa Mesa.
