Ignite Dance: 35 Years of Movement in Orange County

Ignite Dance marks 35 years of extraordinary performances at Irvine Barclay Theatre on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 8 p.m. The program features seven distinguished ensembles with deep ties to Orange County and a legacy of performances on the Barclay stage.

Performances feature classical ballet, Chinese dance, Bharatanatyam, modern, and contemporary works. Audiences will experience the power, precision, and creativity that have defined the region’s dance community for more than three decades.

Participating companies include Arpana Dance Company, Backhausdance, Chinese Dance Company of Southern California, Festival Ballet Theatre, National Choreographers Initiative, Smuin Contemporary Ballet, UCI Claire Trevor School of the Arts Dance, and The Wooden Floor.

More than a performance, Ignite Dance is a tribute to the lasting impact of dance and its ability to inspire, connect, and foster a lifelong appreciation for the arts.

Following the performance, guests are invited to continue the celebration in the Irvine Barclay Theatre lobby with a DJ, light refreshments, and time to honor the vibrant dance community that has shaped the venue’s legacy.

For tickets and more information, please visit thebarclay.org.

Irvine Barclay Theatre is at 4242 Campus Dr. in Irvine.
