Butcher’s House Marks Four Years With New Fromage Menu

This December marks the fourth anniversary of Butcher’s House, and Chef-Owner Jeoffrey Offer is celebrating with an all-new Fromage Menu that reflects his French roots and modern bistro style. The menu honors France’s regional cheeses and the traditions behind them highlighting terroir, craftsmanship and simplicity that define Offer’s cooking.

Each cheese is presented individually with a fresh baguette so guests can savor every nuance.

The lineup includes:

• Camembert à la Braise — Whole Camembert roasted in the coals, creating a molten, aromatic centerpiece.
• Bûche de Chèvre — Goat cheese with olive oil, honey and chives — simple, earthy and elegant.
• Comté — 12-month aged Comté served with Alain Milliat apricot jam and Marcona almonds.
• Fourme d’Ambert Bleu — A blue cheese from the Auvergne region, paired with Alain Milliat fig jam and roasted walnuts.

Seasonal dishes continue to celebrate the intersection of French cooking and the craft of butchery. Winter additions include Raclette Potatoes with melted Raclette cheese, prosciutto and chives; the Beef Cheek slow-cooked for 24 hours with mustard seed mashed potatoes and sauce vigneron; and Duck Confit — a Toulouse-inspired staple — served cassoulet-style with Tarbais beans and garlic confit.

Offer also continues to personally oversee the dry-aging of select cuts, sourced from trusted purveyors and offered as limited-time specials. These steaks evolve weekly in flavor and texture, giving guests a chance to experience rare cuts at their best.

Located at South Coast Collection in Costa Mesa, Butcher’s House has become a cornerstone of Orange County dining — named Restaurant of the Year by Orange Coast Magazine and recognized among the Orange County Register’s 75 Best Restaurants. The warm, masculine interior, wood-fired kitchen and sunlit patio overlooking SoCo’s courtyard embody the spirit of a modern French bistro.

Lunch is served Friday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinner is served Sunday through Wednesday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Butcher’s House is located at 3321 Hyland Ave., Suite D, Costa Mesa.
