OC has hit the big time. Kogi BBQ, the bell of the ball as far as taco trucks go, is making the rounds in Orange County Tuesday through Saturday! Kogi’s recent foray into our neighborhood, made possible by a new “Naranja” (orange) truck, means that you don’t have to roam the streets of LA looking for a Kogi taco.
The LA-based taco truck has garnered a cult-like following for its Korean-Mexican dishes that die-hard fans follow on twitter (nearly 50,000) for exact daily stops. We’ve heard some loyal followers wait up to two hours for a taco! Kogi BBQ serves spicy pork filled tacos, spicy barbeque chicken, Korean short ribs, burritos and more created by beloved chef Roy Choi. All tacos are topped with sesame-chili salsa roja, julienne romaine lettuce and cabbage tossed in Korean chili-soy vinaigrette, cilantro-green onion-lime relish, crushed sesame seeds, sea salt, and lime, orange, and radish wedge. Taste for yourself what the buzz is all about.
