Huntington Beach 4th of July Celebrations!

The largest 4th of July event west of the Mississippi is bringing back all of its beloved traditions during this annual weekend of Independence Day festivities.

The City of Huntington Beach held its very first 4th of July Celebration 118 years ago, and today the event attracts more than 500,000 attendees over 5 days of programming. It’s with great pride that Surf City once again welcomes visitors from across the country for a weekend of beachside, family-friendly fun.

Opening Night Block Party

The weekend of fun begins on the evening of Friday, June 30th with the HB 4th Street Block Party at 5 p.m. Huntington Beach Mayor Tony Strickland and local officials will kick off the celebrations with Mayor Pro Tem Gracey Van Der Mark & Council Member Casey McKeon, Gracey & Casey, emceeing the evening. Festivities will feature an open-air concert downtown on Main Street featuring local legends The Ramsey Brothers, followed by Orange County’s own Redneck Rodeo. This first night of fun is with great thanks to the Huntington Beach Downtown BID. 

Pier Plaza Vendor Festival

Beginning Saturday, July 1, and running through Tuesday, July 4th, attendees can stroll to the world famous Huntington Beach Pier, where the annual festival features 70+ vendors including craft + retail booths, food trucks, carnival rides, live music, games and more! There will also be a Community Corner, highlighting multiple nonprofit organizations from the local community. The Carnival and Pier Festival runs all weekend long (through July 4th) from 12-10 p.m. and features musical acts, vendors, and moreGuests of all ages are welcome to snack, sip, shop, and more right next to the sand. 

Attendees can partake in a wide array of carnival rides, games, and amusements, offering an extra dose of fun for all ages. Guests can purchase carnival tickets beforehand or upon arrival to take a spin on the Ferris wheel, play to win prizes, and more. 

Carnival is open 12 p.m.-10 p.m. July 1-3 | 12 pm-9 pm on July 4

The 1st Annual Huntington Beach Cornhole Tournament of Champions is taking place July 1st-2nd, 2023; sure to be a great time on the sand complete with cash prizes! The tournament is open to all ages and any 2-person team can enter (max of 64 teams per day). Advance registration is strongly recommended.

To close out the weekend of festivities, the ongoing celebratory tradition of Fireworks Over The Ocean Presented by The Mayer Family will commence at 9 p.m. on the 4th of July. All beach viewing is open to the public, with limited paid tickets available for reserved seating on the pier.
