Free Concert in the Park
This weekend at Orange County Great Park in Irvine, it’s a Brits and Celts musical invasion when the Flights & Sounds Summer Festival features folk-rockers The Dunwells and contemporary Irish Celtic music from Solas. The international musical tour under the stars starts Friday at 8:15 p.m. when The Dunwells perform in the Palm Court Arts Complex.
On Saturday, at 8:15 p.m. the Solas, an Irish-American band featuring Seamus Egan will perform on the Runway Stage near the Great Park Balloon. You can choose between concert seating or bring a chair and blanket for relaxing on the lawn.
The free music concert series, in association with the Irvine Barclay Theatre, brings a diverse group of internationally acclaimed musicians, dancers and new artists to the Great Park every weekend through August 31.
The Hangar Café opens at 6 p.m. and serves delicious food and drinks. Admission is free. Parking cost $10.
25 Years at Brystan Studios
My preferred photographer, Lori Brystan is celebrating 25 years at Brystan Studios, a premiere full-service portrait studio in Orange County. Brystan, one of the most sought after photographers in SoCal, is a favorite source for beautiful, stunning and ultra-flattering photos.
If you book a session with Brystan, she’ll donate 25% of the session fee to the Educating Jack & Milly fund, a cause I started in 2010 to give two bright Kenyans, Jack & Milly, a university education in Nairobi. You can choose between family shots, portraits, professional headshots, studio or outdoor sittings.
A professional session by Brystan includes make-up and hair, wardrobe selection is available and portraits are additional.
Brystan Studios is at 27001 Moulton Parkway, Suite 108 in Aliso Viejo. 949.831.3774.
