The made-to-order pizza concept craze is getting a new kid on the block today, when Los Angeles-based The Pizza Studio opens its first Orange County location in Buena Park. (The two Los Angeles locations are near USC at Figueroa and Exposition, and at FigAt7Th in Downtown Los Angeles.) Entrepreneur Neal Perlmutter is the first top open a Pizza Studio franchise, and will also be opening 10 locations in all throughout Orange County.
At The Pizza Studio you can create your own custom pizza masterpiece in minutes. How does it differ from its competitors? At each location, you’ll find art displayed and available for sale from local artists. (The Pizza Studio will not take commission from art sold.) The variety of crusts is also a point of departure from other pizza joints; you can choose from five crusts: traditional, whole grain and flax seed, rosemary herb, firecracker, and gluten-free. Unique to the Pizza Studio too, is a conveyor belt oven designed to bake each pizza at a consistent temperature and time, at 575 degrees and under two minutes.
You can also choose from specialty sauces, premium meats, cheeses, fresh and roasted vegetables at affordable prices. A “starving artist” pizza costs just $5.99 and a build your own pizza costs $7.99. All pizzas are 11-inch.
Since its founding in 2012, The Pizza Studio has signed development agreements with several experienced multi-unit operators for 95 locations from San Diego to Boston, and projects there will be 150 signed locations by the end of 2013.
Open daily 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The Pizza Studio is at 5970 Orangethorpe Ave. in Buena Park. 714.521.8903.
