CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN TURNS 30 TODAY!

Today, California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) marks its 30th anniversary of serving imaginative, California-inspired cuisine. It all started in Beverly Hills on Beverly Drive on March 27, 1985. Now there are with 280 restaurants nationwide and in 15 countries around the world.

CPK made its claim on serving signature hand-tossed and hearth-baked pizzas, imaginative salads, pastas, entrées, soups, sandwiches and hand-crafted cocktails.

CPK is on a mission to continue for the next 30 years, and is in the progress of updating its look and feel with an expanded open kitchen, reclaimed wood accents, counter tops of natural stone and living herb gardens. At least 20 locations have been transformed including the restaurant’s flagship Beverly Hills location.

To celebrate the milestone, CPK will debut “Taste of the Seasons’’ cookbook, a collection of restaurant-style recipes that you can make at home. You can purchase the book at CPK restaurants.

At CPK, chefs prepare food from scratch every day using more than 175 fresh ingredients. Pizzas are hand-tossed three feet into the air, then topped with fresh toppings, and baked in an open-hearth oven.

Its reimagined menu features dishes like the Harvest Kale Salad and the Sunnyside Up Bacon + Potato Pizza. Main plates include upscale options like Fire Grilled Ribeye, fresh cut in Merced, and Hearth Roasted Halibut, caught sustainably from the Aleutian Islands. New Lunch Duos offer more than 80 fresh, made-to-order pairing combinations of 7” pizzas, sandwiches, soups and salads.

CPK also has options that are under 650 calories, vegetarian/vegan or gluten free.  To see the complete menu, visit cpk.com/reimagined.
