Bernadette Peters Opens Pacific Symphony Pops Season Nov. 1-2

Legendary Broadway, film, and TV icon Bernadette Peters returns to Pacific Symphony for two unforgettable nights to kick off the 2024-25 Pops Season, led for a second year by Principal Pops Conductor Enrico Lopez-Yañez. With an enchanting mix of show tunes and classics from masters like Rodgers and Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, and Jerry Herman, Peters brings a unique magic to live music, showcasing her extraordinary vocal range and unmatched talent.

Peters is celebrated for her incredible talent, with accolades including three Tony Awards, a Golden Globe, four Emmy nominations, four Grammy nominations, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. During this performance, she’ll draw from her illustrious Broadway career, featuring hits from productions like Hello, Dolly!, Follies, A Little Night Music, and Gypsy, as well as her recent triumph in the West End’s Old Friends, honoring the legacy of Stephen Sondheim.

Lopez-Yañez will open the concert with beloved musical theater pieces performed by the Pacific Symphony, including Gershwin’s Overture to Girl Crazy, Cohan’s A George M. Cohan Overture, Herman’s Mack & Mabel, Teike’s Old Comrades March, and Hello Dolly!.

This concert marks the beginning of Pacific Symphony’s 2024-25 Pops season, supported by the Sharon J. and Thomas E. Malloy Family and sponsored by PBS SoCal, Avenue of the Arts Hotel, and K-Earth 101 Radio.
