For the first time, you can bake your Aussie-style Pie-Not pies at home. The original Pie-Not in Costa Mesa, the first Aussie Style pie shop in Orange County, is now offering its savory meat and vegetarian pies at Whole Foods Markets throughout Orange County and San Diego. The individually wrapped savory pies are offered frozen and ready to bake-at-home.
You can choose from the Dog’s Eye Pie (the classic Aussie meat pie with grass-fed ground beef and finely diced onions in a shortcrust pastry shell with a puff pastry lid, $7.99); Southern Comfort (white meat chicken breast with peas, carrots, potatoes, celery and thyme in a white wine cream sauce with black pepper in a shortcrust pastry shell with a puff pastry lid, $7.99); and the Hippie Roll (spinach, ricotta, walnuts, Swiss and Gruyere cheeses, and cayenne, $4.99).
Pie Not’s offerings are free of artificial additives and preservatives, and the proteins are hormone and antibiotic free. They use only humanely and pasture-raised proteins, and the beef is grass-fed beef.
Pie-Not’s savory pies and pastries are available at Whole Foods Markets in the following Orange County cities: Huntington Beach, Tustin (Jamboree), Newport Beach (Fashion Island), Laguna Beach, and Laguna Niguel. In San Diego, the following Whole Foods Markets carry Pie-Not: Encinitas, Del Mar, La Jolla, and Hillcrest.
Coming this summer, Pie-Not will be opening its second location in Huntington Beach at the newly-opened ocean view lifestyle destination, Pacific City.
Pie-Not’s original location is at 270 E. 17th Street, Suite 17 in Costa Mesa. 949.650.PIES.
