Orange County’s Premier Wine Tasting Benefit

Wine enthusiasts look forward each year to the Wooden Floor’s 11th Annual Keep the Promise Wine Tasting Benefit on Thursday, September 14 at 6 p.m. at Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach. You can enjoy a hand-picked selection of highly rated wines from around the world and the extraordinary tasting experience this benefit is known for.

The evening will raise funds for The Wooden Floor’s award-winning youth development programs, serving young people from low-income communities through the power of dance and access to higher education. 100 percent of students who graduate immediately enroll in higher education. The event helps keep the promise to these young people, that “from here, you can step anywhere.”

John and Janice Markley of Laguna Beach have collected and donated over 350 bottles of exquisite wines to be uncorked at the benefit. The Markleys achieve this feat annually, searching far and wide for years to amass enough bottles to be served to the more than 300 attendees. Guests will taste from 12 featured wines ranked in the top 1-5% of their regions, including regions of France, Italy, Spain, Australia, Oregon, and California, in support of The Wooden Floor’s successful year-round dance, academic, college and career readiness, and family service programs for low-income youth.

This year’s collection features wine averaging 97 points, including one wine valued at $200 per bottle and rated 100 points, the highest possible rating on a scale popularized by influential wine critic E. Robert Parker, now considered to be the gold standard.

We will also be giving away one pair of tickets, valued at $350 each. Please leave a comment and tag a friend on our Instagram @dailydoseoc and we will randomly select a winner on Thursday, Sept 7.

Guests of Keep the Promise are given the opportunity to taste each and every wine and will also enjoy a strolling blind wine tasting competition, signature small plates, sharing of student success stories, auctions and opportunity drawings, giving opportunities.

Tickets cost: $350 per person, $250 of which is tax deductible.

RSVP at 714.541.8314 ext. 124 or TheWoodenFloor.org/WineTasting
