Prego Reopens as Prego Mediterranean in Tustin

Prego, an award-winning Italian restaurant previously in Irvine for more than 30 years, just reopened in the space formerly occupied by Bluewater Grill at The District at Tustin Legacy. The new Prego Mediterranean continues to hold a special place in the hearts of many O.C. diners.

Chef Ugo Allesina continues to lead the culinary team at the new restaurant. With two decades of experience at Prego, Chef Ugo is excited to bring back signature items and has added to the menu with Mediterranean-focused dishes. The kitchen continues to focus on utilizing seasonal ingredients, the prime meats and seafood, and freshly made pasta.

Signature items for the original Prego menu that guests will find on the new menu include the Ruth Salad with seared tuna, crab, shrimp, grilled zucchini, and tomato over romaine, tossed in a house-made vinaigrette; Baked Pasta with ricotta and spinach rolled into house-made pasta, topped with béchamel; and Lobster Ravioli, half-moon pasta filled with lobster and ricotta cheese, served in a lemon and lobster sauce.

New Mediterranean-focused dishes include Seasonal Hummus of mushroom and truffle, sundried tomato, and roasted garlic basil, served with house-made rustic flatbread; Golden Beet Salad with mixed baby greens, yellow beets, goat cheese, and caramelized onions tossed in a balsamic reduction; and Lobster and Shrimp Stuffed Sole in a white wine, garlic, lemon, and caper sauce.

You can also enjoy craft cocktails, an extensive wine list, and a selection of wines and craft beers on tap, many of which highlight local wineries and breweries.

The restaurant features a bright, open dining room, and a bar with additional seating to more guests. There’s also a covered patio with fireplace and lounge, and a Chef’s Table, overlooking the restaurant’s exhibition kitchen.

Open daily for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The District at Tustin Legacy is at 2409 Park Avenue in Tustin. 949.553.1333.
