Turning 65 and Still Working: What to Know About Medicare

Many people assume they must sign up for Medicare the moment they turn 65. In reality, the timing depends on whether you are still working and what kind of health coverage you have through your employer.

If you are working past 65 and covered by a group health plan through your job or your spouse’s job, you may be able to delay certain parts of Medicare without penalty. This is common for people who want to continue working or are not ready to make changes to their coverage. However, not all employer plans work the same way with Medicare, and company size can matter when it comes to how primary and secondary coverage is determined.

For some people, enrolling in Part A at 65 makes sense because it is often premium-free, while delaying Part B until retirement or loss of employer coverage. Others may need to enroll in both Part A and Part B right away. Making the wrong assumption can lead to gaps in coverage or late enrollment penalties.

This is one of the most common points of confusion around Medicare. What works for one person may not be the right choice for another.

Cape Crusaders, Cosplay and Comic-Con Energy Take Over Anaheim

WonderCon returns to the Anaheim Convention Center March 27 to 29, bringing one of the West Coast’s largest celebrations of comics, movies, television, gaming and cosplay to Southern California.

Produced by Comic-Con International, WonderCon is the organization’s sister convention and draws thousands of fans, creators and industry talent for a weekend of panels, exhibits and immersive fan experiences.

This year’s event features more than 900 exhibitors across a 412,000 square foot exhibit hall filled with comics, original art, toys and merchandise from leading artists, publishers and retailers. Attendees can expect exclusive movie and television programming, panels with top comics professionals, autograph sessions, games, portfolio reviews and the fan-favorite Masquerade.

Cosplay is a major part of the weekend, with thousands of fans arriving in elaborate looks inspired by Marvel, anime, gaming and original creations. The convention floor is packed with high-energy moments, from collectibles and artist showcases to interactive experiences throughout the venue.

WonderCon runs Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
