National Oyster Week at Santa Monica Seafood for Bracken’s Kitchen

Ever wanted to master oyster shucking? You can stop by Santa Monica Seafood in Costa Mesa or in Santa Monica on Saturday, Aug. 11 from noon to 2 p.m. for a fun Oyster Shucking Demo at both stores. And, Santa Monica Seafood is honoring National Oyster Day all week and donating a portion of proceeds from oyster sales to Bracken’s Kitchen, a nonprofit dedicated to feeding the impoverished in Southern California and recovering foods to lessen the environmental impact of food waste.
Market Hours: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

SUMMER DINING AT MONTAGE LAGUNA BEACH

Casual and relaxing Mosaic Bar and Grille at Montage Laguna Beach invites guests to enjoy its crafted cocktails, carefully selected wines and beers and its new summer dinner menu available now through September 2, from 5 to 9 p.m.
Guests will want to start with an evening libation such as Frosé All Day (Malene Rosé, Cointreau, strawberry puree, blackberry liqueur and lemon juice) or maybe El Jimador (house-infused tequila with ginger, strawberry, watermelon, pineapple and Cointreau) – enjoyed with a Starter like Local Rockfish Ceviche, Crispy Calamari or Queso Fundido. Light fare Entrees offer choices: Mosaic Tacos with seafood and fire-roasted salsa; Seafood Platter with chilled lobster tail, poached shrimp and West Coast oysters; Steak Frites; Mosaic Cheese Burger; and more.
Perfect ending choices are Crème Brûlée, Salted Caramel Blondie Ice Cream Cake or Housemade Ice Cream and Sorbets. Live musical entertainment showcased nightly.
