John Varvatos launches Los Angeles Pop-up OTD-ON THIS DAY
12.13.21
John Varvatos just debuted the first season of OTD On This Day and the opening of its flagship SoHo NYC store, as well as a Los Angeles Pop-Up in West Hollywood.
For its preliminary fall season, John Varvatos presents a multi-gender brand for women, men, and unisex clothing as well as footwear, jewelry, and accessories.
OTD explores the modern experience of style and its inextricable connections to pop culture—traversing fashion, music, art, sports, film, television, architecture, and more. Through interesting stories that occurred “on this day” in the past, new stories are sparked in the here and now.
OTD creates effortless-luxe pieces in elevated, unexpected ways. designs recall functionality, control, and tradition, but promote constant change, expression, and ideation.
Designed to reflect the lives of those lived in them, OTD reimagines essential silhouettes to feel fresh and modern. For women, blazers, oversized knits, and plaid overalls explore the effortless-luxe qualities of androgyny.
On men and women, tracksuits hit fall wardrobes with a denser, more structured take on sporty, available in interchanging jackets and pants—side-stripe, racer stripe, and multi-striped as well as color-blocked and paneled jackets in animal jacquard. In unisex, women and men, knits are easy wearing, yet surprisingly elevated. from reversible jackets and shirt jackets to an ultra-cozy mohair sweater coat and an oversized coat in 100% linen, the concept “between-season dressing” gets a multi-season update.
Function plays with form in sport-inspired pieces like French terry sweats, hockey jerseys in sweater constructions, and basketball tanks. for jackets and coats, sleek leather informs both biker styles and traditional coat silhouettes.
Micro-quilted jackets, a garment-dyed trench, and plush velvet puffer styles uphold tactile characteristics. For men and women, tailored gets a leisure twist in unrestrictive materials and modern proportions—interchangeably styled with OTD premium-crafted leather sneakers and combat boots.
OTD collaborations in art and design are available online and in stores. the launch of the OTD x KING BABY jewelry collaboration unveils a unisex range of rings, bracelets, and necklaces. Each piece is made from pure sterling silver, designed and handcrafted in the U.S.
OTD’s Pop-Up is at The Sunset; 8580 Sunset Blvd in West Hollywood CA 90069 (adjacent to Equinox).

Seasonal Tamales and Pozole Return to Miguel’s Jr. for the Holidays
12.10.21
Miguel’s Jr. welcomes back its famous tamales and heartwarming pozole to celebrate the holiday season. Founder and Chief Recipe Officer Mary Vasquez’s tamales and homemade pozole will be on the winter menu through December 31, and tamales will be available for online pre-order by the dozen, while supplies last.
“Growing up in Central Mexico, the holidays were always a special time for me,” said Mary Vasquez, Founder and Chief Recipe Officer of Miguel’s Jr. “I relished in the comfort of the kitchen, the art of hand-rolling masa for our tamales packed with flavor and love, and the magic of the perfect pozole broth. Being able to share my traditional Mexican recipes with Miguel’s Jr. guests each year is the greatest gift.”
Housemade with 100% stone-ground premium masa, Miguel’s Jr. tamales are hand-crafted and prepared following Mary Vasquez’s secret recipe. Choose from succulent, slow-roasted California Chile or perfectly seasoned Chile Rojo Pork. Enjoy Mary’s tamales a-la-carte for a meal anytime, or pre-order online by the dozen. Tamale enthusiasts can mix and match flavors to try both award-winning recipes throughout the holiday season, through Christmas and New Year’s.
Mary’s zesty, house-made pozole is also back on the Miguel’s Jr. menu this season. This traditional Mexican soup features slow-simmered, chile-based broth generously filled with tender hominy and a choice of Miguel’s Jr.'s authentically seasoned shredded chicken or slow-roasted Chile Verde Pork. Mary’s pozole is available in three sizes including a 64oz “family size” for at-home family enjoyment, a single-serving 16oz portion, and a full 32oz bowl to savor and enjoy on a cool December evening or for a comforting lunch. The flavorful and meaty pozole is served with a side of lemons, cabbage and onions for fans to customize to their preference.
Miguel’s Jr.’s entire flavor-packed menu is available for dine-in, drive-thru, online ordering for curbside pickup and delivery. For more information including hours and locations, please visit MiguelsJr.com.
