KXMAS with Eric Burdon and the Animals

11.28.17

To kick off the holiday season, KX 93.5, a locally-focused, nonprofit FM radio station, is hosting KXmas featuring Eric Burdon and The Animals on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Irvine Bowl at Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach.

All KXmas proceeds will benefit local nonprofits, such as The Friendship Shelter, Laguna Beach Chamber and KX 93.5. Attendees will get to hear classics like “House of the Rising Sun” and “We Gotta Get Out of This Place,” at the only concert allowed at the Irvine Bowl. Guests can also enjoy Festival of Arts Winter Wonderland, which will feature themed holiday party tents, indie Christmas carolers, spiked punch and a “drunk” Santa.

Also, in partnership with the Friendship Shelter, a year-round shelter, and rehabilitation center for homeless adults, several homeless musicians will be opening Eric Burdon and The Animals.

Festival of Arts is at 650 Laguna Canyon Rd. in Laguna Beach.

Giving Tuesday for Bracken’s Kitchen

11.27.17

Giving Tuesday is a day for you to make a difference. Bracken’s Kitchen rescues and repurposes food into healthy meals for those combatting food insecurity and hunger. And they provide meals for organizations serving people in need. Their goal for 2018 is to serve 300,000 meals through their Recovered Food Program. On the Global Day of Giving, Tuesday, Nov. 28, Facebook and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are matching up to $2 million of funds raised on Facebook for U.S. nonprofits. And Facebook has waived all fees on this day.

Starting at 5 a.m. tomorrow, you can visit Bracken’s Kitchen Facebook page to donate.  With an average dinner food cost of less than $.35 ever dollar counts. You can help them reach their year-end fundraising goal of  $100,000 by donating today. Find out more at brackenskitchen.com.
