Kaleidoscope Celebrates the Season with Community Tree Lighting
11.30.17
Kaleidoscope in Mission Viejo will ring in the holidays with a festive Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony for the community on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. Co-hosted by Mariners Mission Viejo, the evening will begin with free children’s activities, a holiday boutique with local artisans, and at 7 p.m., holiday caroling and entertainment will culminate in the Christmas tree being lit.
Local families are invited to enjoy a holiday photo booth, face painting, cookie decorating, and an ornament craft. At 7 p.m., visitors will enjoy a sing-a-long style program of classic holiday carols with planned surprises. Hot cocoa will also be served.
Also, restaurants inside Union Market Mission Viejo, on the upper level of Kaleidoscope, will donate 10% of sales from the evening to Mariners MV Outreach. The non-profit program recently established a disaster relief initiative in Puerto Rico, to provide food, clean water, and solar panels and batteries to enable residents to charge their phones.
Kaleidoscope will host additional holiday fun throughout the season, including inviting families to Union Market Mission Viejo to find JoJo, a friendly but slightly mischievous Elf on the Shelf®. JoJo will make himself at home inside Union Market Mission Viejo through Sunday, Dec. 24. Youngsters who spot JoJo can tell the nearest restaurant or boutique, and they will receive one free holiday treat. Anyone who takes a photo of themselves with JoJo in the background and posts it to social media using, #UnionMarketElfie will have a chance to win a Milk & Cookies party for them and five friends.
The holiday festivities will continue at Kaleidoscope on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 3 to 7 p.m. with live music, holiday caroling, visits with Santa, and hot cocoa.
Kaleidoscope is just off the 5 Freeway at 27741 Crown Valley Parkway in Mission Viejo.
