What woman doesn’t want to wear high heels without pain, cramps or other discomfort? Find out how you can keep your feet supported and pain free, even while wearing your favorite heels, at Champagne & High Heels, a pop-up shop and presentation at Newport Center Orthopedic on Tuesday, June 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. Guests will enjoy light bites, Champagne, special offers, and a brief presentation about the first-ever high heel insole, available in the U.S. exclusively at Newport Center Orthopedic.
Handcrafted in Germany, the first-ever high heel insole by Medi, a worldwide leader in compression and orthopedics, is debuting in the U.S. at this event. Guests will also enjoy 10% off their first insole purchase, 20% off their second insole purchase, and 15% off all other Medi products, including compression stockings, orthopedic braces, and athletic performance and recovery products.
April Wilson, the National Clinical Educator for MediUSA, will also explain how supporting your feet properly can help the rest of your body perform and feel better. April is certified in Advanced Proficiency in Orthopedics, a licensed Personal Trainer, certified as a Kinesotape Practitioner, and a Physical Therapist Assistant with over 20 years of clinical experience treating orthopedic and sports-related injuries.
Her specialties include treatment of the foot and ankle, along with orthotics, footwear recommendations and video analysis to improve the performance of clients and patients. Her areas of expertise are the lower legs, biomechanical dysfunction, and sports performance including running and cycling.
The store is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

THREE NEW CHEFS Join MONTAGE LAGUNA BEACH

Three new talented chefs are joining The Montage Laguna Beach at the elegantly casual all-day dining spot The Loft and the signature restaurant Studio.
Executive Chef David Serus of Le Mans, France oversees culinary operations ar Montage Laguna Beach including special events, meetings, weddings and banquets. After attending cooking school in Quimper, France, he served a year in the French navy and then worked at two Michelin Star restaurants – one in London and the other in the South of France. He’s worked at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and The Ritz-Carlton Hotels & Resorts across the U.S. He was awarded the prestigious title of Maître Cuisiniers de France from the French culinary community, of which there are only 86 in the U.S.
Seoul, Korea-born and raised, Chef Joosung Lee is leading the culinary team at The Loft at Montage Laguna Beach. He’s a Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park graduate, with over 15 years of working in prestigious kitchens, including the former The Dining Room Ritz-Carlton Pasadena, Charlie Palmer in Costa Mesa and at Scarpetta, Montage Hotel and Spa, Beverly Hills. He is introducing lunch and dinner menus that reflect inventive California cuisine heightened by Asian and other global food influences.
Lee’s new lunch menu includes Artisan Sandwiches such as Arugula Pesto Wrap and Crispy Chicken with emmental and red cabbage. New entrées include Shrimp Chitarra, Seared Ahi Tuna Niçoise and more. His new dinner menu features refreshing Cantaloupe and Cucumber Gazpacho; Superior Farms Lamb Chops with sorrel pesto, vanilla-braised treviso and aged balsamic; Sunburst Squash with tarragon, chili flakes and lime; and other new selections. The chef has also created new Pasta and Grain dishes, Choices From The Ocean and local side Accompaniments.
Studio’s new Sous Chef Robert Rando, also a The Culinary Institute graduate has left the East Coast to bring his years of high-end luxury dining experience to the West Coast. At Studio, he’ll be working in collaboration with Chef de Cuisine Benjamin Martinek. Rando will be an important part of the team that creates Studio’s à la carte menus, much-loved tasting menus, special wine dinners and private dinners at the Chef’s Table – all featuring exquisite French cuisine inspired by local purveyors and markets, as well as Studio’s expansive garden.
