NEWPORT BEACH FILM FESTIVAL LAUNCH TELEVISION AWARDS SHOWCASE

The Newport Beach Film Festival’s inaugural TV Awards Showcase will take place during the 21st annual Film Festival April 23 – April 30. The showcase is in partnership with Variety Media and will be held at the iconic Port Theater April 24 – April 26. Schitt's Creek Actor and TV icon, Eugene Levy will be honored with the first-ever Newport Beach Film Festival Lifetime Achievement Award on Friday, April 24 during the TV Showcase.
The Festival and Variety’s editorial team will curate and screen six of 2020’s hottest and most buzzworthy television shows. Each screening will be followed by an intimate Q&A session with the cast and crew moderated by a Variety television editor or reporter. The Showcase will kick off the Festival’s opening weekend with an Award Ceremony honoring iconic figures in television today. Honorees and Q&A participants TBD.
Eugene Levy is an award-winning actor, writer, and producer. In addition to his Emmy® nominated work on Schitt’s Creek, Levy has played countless iconic roles across his storied career in film and television. After solidifying his television legacy on SCTV (Second City Television), Levy partnered with Christopher Guest to co-write and co-star in widely celebrated films Best In Show, Waiting For Guffman, For Your Consideration, and A Mighty Wind. With the role of Noah Levenstein in the American Pie franchise, Levy also cemented his reputation as America’s favorite dad.
Eugene Levy co-created and co-stars in Schitt’s Creek with his son Daniel. The beloved comedy series has received countless nominations and awards including four Emmy® nominations, a Producers Guild Award nomination, a GLAAD Media Award nomination, five Critics’ Choice Award nominations and two Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations.
The Newport Beach Film Festival will showcase more than 350 films and television shows from 50 countries and host nightly special events, red carpet galas, compelling conversations with filmmakers, international spotlight events and seminars. The Festival offers filmgoers unique opportunities to mingle with celebrities, filmmakers from around the globe and film industry professionals in a beautiful seaside locale.

Spring Orchid Garden Workshop with Shelley Burton

Join Roger Garden’s Garden Rooms Team Leader, Shelley Burton, as she guides you through how to combine the ever-popular succulents with an orchid plant in a white glazed container on Saturday, March 14 at 10 a.m.
She will also provide you with tips on how to care for your planted container. Workshop fee is $100 per person, includes a white-colored container approximately 10” in diameter, various succulents, one pink orchid, and step-by-step instruction. Space is limited.
