Bratwurst and beers at Dine Out Long Beach
02.21.20
If you love Bratwurst and beers, you’re going to want to get into Rasselbock in the Bixby Knolls neighborhood of Long Beach. It’s offering a special prix-fixe dinner during Dine Out Long Beach starting February 23-29.
The family-owned German restaurant and pub specializes in German food and freshly tapped German and Belgian beers.
You’ll want to start with a Bavarian pretzel served with homemade sweet mustard and obatzda, or a mini potato pancake topped w/ homemade apple sauce & mascarpone cheese. And the sausage platter is a wonderful sampler of sausages: Bratwurst, Käsetrainer & Chicken spicy mango jalapeno sausage; served w/ homemade mustards.
Rasselbock is known for their schnitzel and their sausages. You can’t go wrong with any of their schnitzels, we especially liked their Jäger Schnitzel that’s breaded & sautéed loin topped with wild mushroom sauce; choose between pork, chicken or veal. We also loved the Hungarian Debreziner sausage, smoked pork, paprika, garlic, pepper & marjoram.
All Schnitzels and Sausages come w/ two sides of choice. We loved the homemade Spätzlepotatoes and the classic sauerkraut.
It’s a must to save room for dessert and try the Homemade Apple Strudel, a German classic served with vanilla ice cream.
DineOut Long Beach restaurant week three-course dinner at $30 per person.
- 1st course Beer flight – Four 5 oz. tasters of seasonal drafts (Hefeweizen, Pilsner, Oktoberfest Ale & Doppelbock).

02.20.20
The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel welcomes back Laguna Gallery of Contemporary Art to the oceanfront resort’s rotating art gallery space with the new exhibit, California Cool. Now on display until May 2020, the contemporary-inspired exhibit features 23 vibrant pieces by 11 local artists, highlighting California’s natural environment with cool ocean blues, whimsical glass butterflies, and coral colored skies.
