OC Goodwill Boutique opens Friday, May 17
05.16.13
Get ready for a whole new shopping experience, like nothing you've ever seen before! The new OC Goodwill Boutique will open on Friday, May 17, at 9 a.m. in Tustin. Overflowing with re-purposed, style-rich clothes, house wares and furniture, shoppers should not be surprised to see brands like Gucci, Coach, Bebe, Christian Dior and dozens of others at the Boutique, dubbed "fashionably good." Why "fashionably good?" Because $0.91 of every dollar spent here funds Goodwill's mission of training and employing people with barriers. So you can have fun shopping brand names at incredible prices, while helping your community at the same time.
Speaking of our community, the "OC" in "OC Goodwill Boutique" stands for Orange County, but it also stands for "our community" – the store will do so much more than just draw the County's fashionistas looking for an amazing deal. The store will also serve the community by offering a place to experience "shopping karma" -- the phenomenon in which donating clothes outside the store transforms into a treasure-filled shopping experience inside the store itself....try it and see!
The grand opening ribbon cutting is at 8:45 a.m. on Friday, May 17. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. that day. Make sure to be there for the iPad giveaway at 9 p.m. on both May 17, and again on May 18. $10 gift cards will be presented to the first 50 shoppers at the door on May 17 and May 18. The 25% off blue tag items runs opening weekend (Friday to Sunday).
Check out the OC Goodwill Boutique story in the Orange County Register, front page of the business section.
The Boutique is located at 502 E. First St. in Tustin.
Happy shopping, everyone!

05.15.13
Food and wine lovers can join the fight against hunger in Orange County by attending the Summer Food & Wine Event, a South Coast Plaza tradition for more than 25 years, on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Charlie Palmer at Bloomingdale’s.
At the celebration more than 30 premium wineries will be pouring 100 of their best vintages, along with tray passed appetizers from Charlie Palmer’s such as truffle cheese sliders, herb French fries, hamachi sashimi with blood orange-fennel marmalade, three cheese risotto croquette, saffron aioli; taco yaki–ginger, potato foam; and smoked and seared scallop with pineapple and rhubarb yogurt.
Celebrity Chef Charlie Palmer will mingle with guests, and Jason Bentley of KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic will provide music. All proceeds benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.
Downstairs in the wine cellar, they will pour extraordinary Champagnes. Many of the wines will be for sale by the case at 10 % discount.
Tickets cost $100 per person. To purchase tickets visit www.feedoc.org or call 949.653.2900 x 131.
