Global Genes Gifts $100,000 for Rare Diseases

Orange County based Global Genes is giving hope and support to patients and families in their fight against rare diseases. The leading rare and genetic disease advocacy organization just gifted $100,000 to rare disease patient organizations!
The non-profit organization promotes the needs of the rare disease community under a unifying symbol of hope – the Blue Denim Genes Ribbon.
It just announced the winners of its inaugural RARE Patient Impact Grant program. Launched at the 2015 Rare Tribute to Champions of Hope, the nonprofit directs $100,000 in financial support to deserving rare disease foundations and patient advocacy groups providing equipment, resources, and support to rare disease patients and their caregivers.

Super Saturday LA for OCRFA

Shop for a cause all day long at what the New York Times calls "the Rolls Royce of garage sales" at Super Saturday LA to end ovarian cancer on Saturday, June 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.
Join Molly Sims and Rachel Zoe at the family-friendly shopping event that offers premier items for women, men and kids, plus, beauty, jewelry, accessories, and home for up to half off the retail price. Net proceeds from the event support Ovarian Cancer Research Fun Alliance (OCRFA) and its research and patient support programs.

Super Saturday LA offers a full day of indulgences including Chrysler Pacifica test drives with a Fun Zone for Kids, Mary Kay lip gloss and cotton candy bar, BHG Catering’s French cuisine with a California twist, Conair Curl Secrets and braid bar, and gourmet bites.
VIP Tickets are $200 and include a Super Saturday gift bag, access to VIP area, preferred parking, early entry to the event, and VIP-only concierge shopping service.
Or, grab General Admission for $75 ($100 at the door) and enjoy all the shopping, activities, and delicious refreshments and treats the event has to offer. Kids tickets are $50, with children 5 and under enjoying free entry.
