More BLKdot Coffee to Love in OC

For the best in slow-dripped Vietnamese craft coffee, Irvine-based BLK Coffee is a great place to go. And soon, you’ll have three more locations to get your caffeine fix in Orange County. As newly re-branded BLKdot Coffee. the first new location will open in Laguna Beach’s Boat Canyon center in late October, with locations to follow at Irvine Marketplace in spring 2018, and Irvine Spectrum in Summer 2018
The coffee shop is known for its signature VTM Coffee, slow-dripped Vietnamese craft coffee often referred to as “crack in a cup.” In addition, BLKdot Coffee offers full barista service with classic, iced and blended espresso beverages, and specialty coffee and tea creations, such as Sea Salt Coffee and Thai Tea Latte.
The food menu features specialty sandwiches, such as Chicken Banh Mi, as well as a selection of locally baked goods, including croissants, artisan bagels, muffins and scones. Have a sweet tooth? You can indulge in lemon pound cake, cinnamon pull-aparts, kouign amann, and assorted tartes. Breakfast is served all day with items such as an Avocado Boat, tuna-filled avocado half with bacon, black pepper, and sprouts.

FARMHOUSE SPECIAL DINNER PARTY Tonight

Farmhouse owner and executive chef Rich Mead is throwing the ultimate foodie dinner party in honor of Chef Alan Greeley, celebrating his iconic Costa Mesa restaurant, The Golden Truffle where he was an owner and executive chef for the last 37 years. As a toast to his long career and award-winning restaurant, the two are pleased to host a special party in celebration of great food and even better company tonight from 6-9 p.m.
SoCal’s culinary leaders will come together to help celebrate such as chef/owner Tim Goodell of The Royal Hen, executive chef Daniel Hyatt of Juliette Kitchen + Bar, executive chef and partner Greg Daniels and chef Landon Pulizzi of Haven Gastropub, executive chef Craig Strong of Studio at The Montage Laguna Beach, owner/chef Franco Barone of Il Barone, chef/owner Alessandro Pirozzi of Pirozzi Corona Del Mar and Alessa Laguna Beach, chef/owner Amar Santana of Vaca and Broadway by Amar Santana, and chef/owner Pascal Olhats of Pascal Restaurant and Café Jardin.
The dinner party will kick off with signature cocktails, beer, wine, passed appetizers and a station of grilled and shucked Clausen Bay oysters courtesy of Superior Seafood. The coursed dinner will feature dishes made with the freshest seasonal produce and locally sourced proteins. Farmhouse’s pastry chef will prepare an array of desserts. Signature cocktails, beers and wines will be served.
Proceeds from the dinner will benefit Augie’s Quest and Natalie’s Wish.
$260 per person, tax, and gratuity included. *$150 of the ticket price is a tax-deductible charity donation.
